With 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas, this initiative will spotlight the top 20 council leaders who have demonstrated exceptional governance through tangible achievements and testimonials from residents.
The event included a brief overview of their impact, speeches by esteemed international partners and guests, and partnerships with prominent organizations.
Hope for the Masses Foundation aims to inspire a wave of positive change across all local governments in Nigeria.

1. Road Infrastructure
Recognizes local government chairmen that have significantly improved road networks, by constructing or upgrading road infrastructure in the LG.
2. Education Infrastructure
Celebrates local council leaders who have invested in the construction, renovation, or expansion of educational facilities.
3. Health Infrastructure
Honours local government leaders that have prioritized healthcare by upgrading health facilities and ensuring access to essential medical services.
4. Youth-Focused Initiative
Acknowledges innovative programs that engage and empower young people through education, skills development, and leadership opportunities.
5. Welfare Interventions
Recognizes efforts to address the social and economic welfare of vulnerable populations through targeted interventions.
6. Educational Interventions
This award focuses on policies, scholarships, and other educational strategies that enhance learning outcomes and provide opportunities for underprivileged students.
7. Health Interventions
Honours local government chairmen for implementing successful health programs or campaigns that address critical public health issues, e.g. disease prevention, immunization programmes, health education etc
8. Housing Initiative
This award focuses on policies, scholarships, and other educational strategies that enhance learning outcomes and provide opportunities for underprivileged students.
9. Sports Initiative
Recognizes local government leaders who promote sports through infrastructure, programs, or events.
10. The Best Female-Led LGA
Honours the most outstanding female-led local government authority that has demonstrated exceptional leadership and governance.
11. Employment Well-being
This award recognizes efforts to reduce unemployment and enhance job security, worker satisfaction, and career development.
12. The Most Disability Compliant and Inclusive LG
Recognizes local governments that prioritize accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities. This award highlights efforts to create barrier-free environments, promote inclusivity in public spaces, and implement policies that protect the rights of disabled individuals.
13. Environmental & Social Impact
This award acknowledges projects that address climate change, waste management, and community-based environmental conservation efforts.
14. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative
This award celebrates efforts to ensure representation and equal opportunities for all citizens, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, or social status.
15. Agriculture-Focused LG in the State

Honours local governments that have excelled in delivering public services that directly meet the needs of citizens. This award would also recognize responsiveness, transparency, and accountability in governance, ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard and addressed.

Recognizes local governments that have introduced innovative solutions to address local challenges and improve service delivery.
